OOO can you tell me more about it.?...i went to a one day event there about a month back with a lady i groom for.....GREAT x-country course...it my current aim to get my horse around Twesledown X-country course!!

I dont want to go, it is just a gallop round the racecourse and a turn on the xc course..... why not do a training session for the same price and not be swept along with the flow???

Well it didnt the years that I did it..... and to be honest you need a permit to go on the MOD land.... so cant see that that is likely....

Come up to me and I will take you for a fabby ride over the MOD land....... Lots of stones and dodging the warden.,... great

Is it that bad over there??. I remember when I was younger I used to keep my old horse over in Ash and used to ride on the common there, used to get chased by the wardens quite alot lol.

It is very stoney...... hard..... and full of cows and cattle grids!!!

When I was younger we used to go over there and it was sandy....... maybe why the local estate is called Sandy Hill???

But now it has all been washed away and there are only a few chosen places to canter.... and they are really nothing special.

The best place is the big field that is on the left as you approach the racecourse (going towards fleet).

Its ok for a wander and a gossipy ride though!!!!

!!!!!!!!, my poor horsey would have a heart attack, she does'nt do farmyard animals very well lol. She almost had heart failure when she saw some sheep behind a hedge while doing frensham lol x

You have had it then..... you think you are safe and then round a bend there can be scores of them...... bloody big ginger and black and white ones.....

The best of it was, when the black and white baby ones decided to see if merlin really was their mummy.... and followed us for ages!!

Oh bless them Berry would probally of had a massive panic attack and thrown herself on the floor lol. Shes not to bad with pigs though. How do you get over the cattle grids? or dont you?? x.

They have gates right next to them...... great planning..... heart attack incase he puts a leg down one. There is a little barrier between the gate and grid, but its still dangerous!!!

Even better is that as soon as the gate is open an inch, merlin thinks he can get through and goes for it..... cue bruised legs!!!

And he is terrified of pigs...... they are on our other hacking option..... some days he will go past trembling, others he spins and runs

My mare is a bit like that with gates

Berry is really good with pigs , she doesnt take any notice of them which is really strange as most horses I know are pertrified of them

Old park area..... so can either go out over the common (MOD) or out through Doras Green and Crondall, but thats all roads and he is arthritic in one leg

I prefer Frensham though.... Piebaldsparkle and I regularly go out for a blast.... she is such a bad example

Yeah frensham is fun, I used to live over there when I was younger. Have loads of fun memories from over there x.
My local hacking is crooksbury and the north downs way bit, I can hack to frensham from where I am but Berry wont go out that far by herself she gets scared lol

Lol, she is really good over the flyover, she will go anywhere as long as its on a road as soon as she gets on to a bridle path she becomes nervous (weird pony)

. Its like she knows she has to be sensible on the roads bless her x.
