Twiggy is my ( who turned 4 just last week) mare out of training (too slow to race). we have taken things slowly and now she is hacking out fine, going in a lovely outline on the flat (although not quite in canter yet). So far I have only had a dressage saddle to fit her but we are trying a second hand jumping one from a local saddlers which seems to fit her great so thought we would have her first try at jumping today. Started off with a pole on the floor as we have been doing these for a while then did a tiny cross then an upright (about 2 foot) all from trot and im pleased to say she went straight on forward and happy into each fence without feeling wiggly whatsoever. So pleased with her, she has put on so much weight, is so much calmer and has stopped weaving, roll on byeh classes! Were hoping to get her along to a dressage soon at a venue which specifically runs these shows for babies - I'll just be glad to get her getting used to going out somewhere and taking her home! How are everyone elses youngsters coming on?
