This may be a bit long - so please forgive.
Rosie's parents have bought two new horses for her to work on over the summer. One is called Lotus Eater and the other is Just a Token - you can look them up and see their history for yourselves but neither has had brilliant results to date.
On Saturday, she took them both + BB (her only eventer until now) to an affiliated SJ show at Finchingfield RC. Lotus Eater had 2 d/cs and 2 seconds, Just a Token had 2 down in one class and one in the next but still came 5th. BB had two d/cs and 2 wins. So that was a pretty successful day!
But today, Rosie took Just a Token to the PN at Prestwold - mainly because the previous owners had already entered her - and got 31 in the dressage (inspite of a 4 second halt where she wouldn't stand still) and a double clear with (I think she said) the fastest XC - and they won!!
She sounded very happy when she rang me just now.
Thank you for putting up with this self-indulgence - I'll shut up now!

Wow that is amazing!!

Well done to Rosie

Thank you - I think she is a good rider but lucky too I guess. (Henryhorn: I'm a grandmother actually, but you weren't to know that lol)

She's entered in the JRN at Little Downham on BB but is also due to ride in a maiden race at Dingley p2p and I don't think she'll be able to do both - she said if she has to make a choice the racing will win. Not sure where the 2 new girls are going next but will probably be at PN level although the aim is to move them up to Novice as and when.

Excellent stuff!!

And she has only had them a little while, thats what I like to see!! Whenever I get a new one from Janet I always take them out asap and get on with it!!

See what you mean about previous results... especially the Lotus Eater. Very well done, especially to find such an improvement in the dressage so fast! Is she supposed to be selling them at the end of the season?

I think that is one possibility - depends how they do and if they consider either has real potential. They would both be able to race in point to points (Lotus Eater raced on the flat as a youngster but with no success) and of course, they're both mares so breeding is a possibility. We'll have to wait and see I guess!
