I wouldn't say so. I have 4 bitches who all live happily together - 2 terriers who are mother and daughter and 2 whippet/Beds one of whom only arrived in Jan and fits in the pack as snug as a bug! Have to say I do know of someone who has 2 terrier sisters who hate each other but it depends on the dogs.

My terrier HATES her sister  and there is always a scrap if they're together. But my dogs mother and 2 other bitches lived together happily for years. Depends on the dogs, how they're brought up/introduced.

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Don't know which breed of terrier they are but if they're Borders, although they mostly get on with every other dog within miles, if they do take against another dog, that will be it, forever. They never forget and will always hold a grudge against each other even if they don't see each other for months; meet up again and it will all start over, they just have to have the last word.
We bred Borders for years and in all that time, only ever had one this happened to and we had to rehome her in the end; they could go for weeks without any trouble, be in the house and play as normal and then for no reason that we could see, they would fly at each other; because it was so unpredictable and ours are all as family, one had to go else it would have been a bloodbath. We did find her a fantastic home where she was an only one and neither of the dogs ever fought with anyone else after that; that pair just clashed and that was that.
On the other hand, I've known many Borders that are pairs and all live in harmony; you just have to take each dog as an individual, none are the same.

Lol, Patterdales are a completely different ball game to Borders, you're quite right! I know some that are the most loveable dogs and others that just want to kill everything in sight no matter if it's a massive mastiff!
Just goes to prove, no two dogs are the same let alone being of the same breed.

My bitch happilly mixes with dogs of all sexes. As with everything if you bring them up well and with you as top dog, its no different to have two bitches of any breed - or for that matter, dogs of any sex.

i know you have a JRT, ours thinks he is a rottweiller, whick is how he damaged his front leg, forever chasing one of our sheepdogs. he is loved to bits and always has been so i slightly resent your implication that he is not treated as part of our family.his breedingwas from a fairly no nonsense JRT, so i assume he gets his temperament from there.

I think she was saying her dogs were well brought up and still clashed.

Our two female GSDs were very well reared and brought up with each other, my mother (used to be :p) very no nonsense with her dogs and the younger one could not be trusted with the older one, they had a couple of very bad fights.

Just one of those things! Personally, and I have said this before, bitches together can be a bit trickier than dogs, hence why mardy females are referred to as bitches!!!
