If people were tying their horse up, using a head collar, leadrope, bailing twine(or whatever) and a metal tie ring. To put the bailing twine between the head collar and lead rope rather than between the lead rope and tie ring? That way there's no trailing lead ropes...

The yards I've been at for the last few years all have twine/other breaking stuff on the rings so I use that. In theory the between headcollar & lead rope way would probably be better but not sure about leading that way... pros (no trailing) and cons (easier to loose horse!)....
