Tying up

It is entirely possible and could depend on many things. Was the horse well warmed up and cooled down, had it had time off with full feed? What is the horse fed?
I have one which will tie-up if he gets cold and shivers! He's quite an extreme case and I have to be very careful with his management as I know he is prone to it but *touches wood* he hasnt tied up for about 5years (before that he would tie-up regularly).
Blood tests would tell you if it really was a tie-up, but these have to be done quite quickly after the event as the enzymes dissipate over time.
 
Hey thanks for the replies! but thank god he didnt tie up, he had got cast in his stable and the lump was fluid build up from trauma!
