Hey planning on trying some hunting but wondering what type of hunt there are? Jumping/heights/distance etc. nd if theres an age limit to riding ponies on them??
sounds a bit stupid but i actually have no idea! Trying to find new things to do with a pony as im nearl 17!

I know adults of 40+ who hunt on ponies, so no age limit!

There's beagles, harriers, drag hunts and foxhounds (tho the law means that fox hound is only a name)

jumping is always optional, and varies from ditches to full blown hedges, walls and everything in between.

the distance you cover depends on the land you are hunting over. On a moor day we barley go 5 miles from the boxes, on a lowland day we can cover 10+ miles.

Im just trying to think of new things that we can do where my age doesnt limit us, she loves been out and about and doing xc and things like that so i'll have to look into it :)

What type of jumps you have will largely depend on where you are. Here in the Peaks we are Stone walls, stone walls, and more stone walls. If I go back home to Ireland its hedges and ditches all the way, with the odd wire.
