Just when we were at the tail end of the spay fiasco she's managed to hernia (well thats what it looks like) or rupture herself. I think she did it yesterday jumping on the retriever :o she was stopped but I guess the humping motion did it...

So we're BACK to the vets tomorrow, any idea what the treatment well be? :( Staaaaaarting to wish I'd never bothered.com..

Might depend on the size and location. You could be lucky and find that it's just a seroma making it look swollen but if she has genuinely ruptured some sutures and herniated vets may need to operate to fix it...

Good luck!

It was his internal stitches he ruptured, the outside was starting to heal/was healed in places, they had to cut him open, put stuff back where it was meant to be, trim back the damaged tissue and stitch him all up again, but his was much bigger than a marble, it was more like an Orange

Hmm ok, maybe its not what I think then. But we'll go see our friends the vets tomorrow anyway.
This morning it looks like a little blood blister/bruise. I'm hoping that's what it is, rather than anything more sinister - I cant take more ops!!

Hmm this morning it has opened a little, not over the actual spay-wound site, but to the side, looks like a pingpong ball lump of blood. After speaking to my OH we think it's from banging herself getting up on the "dog" sofa. Poor girl. I didn't realise how careful we still needed to be, even after 14 days when it looked completely healed. Stupid me!

My amateur diagnosis is bruising, underneath fairly weak, thin skin. But could always be hernia/rupture I suppose as its a bit lumpy.

We're off to the vets at 10.50am, but always think its good to post about these things so other people have a reference if it happens to them!
