Well I have to have the 'special' horses don't I...
Orion was gelded yesterday, it all went well he was really well behaved actually and 'dropped' them nicely for the vet.
He woke up pretty fast and was happily waiting to go back out after 1 hour let alone the 2 he had to wait. Everything seemed normal, except for the mass of guilt...
Anyway we get to the yard this morning and the lady we asked to watch him, says she was just about to ring us because something s hanging out
she sounded very calm about it...
Anyway, unsuspecting little me, goes to check him and bring him in and.... he trots over and between his back legs is hanging a red slimy bloody mess... lovely... he seemed rather happy about it. Making me feel rather sick he proceeded to trot in while my Mom wrang the vet. Two more hours and another nasty needle later, he wakes up from another sedation with organ supporting membrane safely removed, and another mess in the stable... why me?
The colt or should I say gelding is a special little chap, getting a rare complication like that... lucky me eh? I know it could have been more serious but still made me feel rather queasy...
Anyway little ponio is fine, feeling rather peed of with vets and still wearing his pink rug... sigh... the things we do to our horses.
