Is anyone on the u18 BE program or have kids who are? What height do you have to be competing at?
My kids would love some program where they can meet eventers there age, compete with and be friends with! I know the Pony Program is excellent for that, but seeing as my eventing children are off ponies that is out the question! But does the eventing-friends/community get lost in the horse riders?
Also is there some championship or something to aim for?

I am doing u18 100 at the moment - don't think there are any restrictions on height apart from usual BE rules. I have to say that I only really got a chance to chat and get to know new people at training organised by BE u18 coaches. At comps, people stick to who they know and are focused on riding. If you are placed 1st or 2nd, it automatically qualifies you for weston park champs. Not quite sure what happens after that - think teams are chosen for each region. Selectors watch your tests and rounds and their feedback is usually very informative and useful.

Al benefited from the training more than anything else, really, as she was never going to be a team/ top 10 contender in the time she was in the programme (she's now 19 and out of it). She was competing at BE100 when she started doing the training, but with problems with ditches and skinnies.
