Am going to be in trouble with my OH, so today after wks of my 2.5yr old little guy asking if he could ride I finally gave in, now it was only for 20 minutes BUT he loved every minute of it, and roared laughing everytime he trotted around:) I was so proud seeing him enjoy every second of it while his 6yr old sister was out jumping 2 ft fences with fillers:eek: - no photos Im afraid of big sis from today.
But here are a few of the little guy.

I'm hoping one of mine is interested. My one year old loves sitting on the shetland but none of the rest are that Jean.

That's great! My daughter (13) has unfortunately lost interest, I'm absolutely gutted, I hoped we could ride together for years to come but her confidence has never been strong so now she's just wanting the occasional ride. I have to just accept I'm the only horsey one in the family..Now I have a pony to sell :(

❤❤

Oh wow what a lad !! Bet he is pleased as punch (dad probably is secretly too) .
My 3 1/2 yr old loves riding and telling her big sis what she's doing wrong!

Im really hoping my 6yr old doesnt lose interest when she hits teenage years:(

Just for the cuteness factor, here are a couple of her:) She is one of the most gutsy & determined kids at the yard, isnt phased by anything. Always the one asking for the jumps to be put up - bounces when she falls off & straight back on. When we took her out showing earlier in the year we got countless comments from judges about how good her hands & seat are.. She does lessons with kids up to 8 yrs older than her!

Hahaha, think oh would prefer litte lad to be into Dinosaurs:) heck of a lot cheaper. Have never been a pushy pony club type mum , I encourage but don't push, my eldest has been riding since she was 3.5 when she started and she will be a cracking little jockey when her legs grow a bit. If the little lad decides he wants to do it I will defo encourage aswell, not enough boys into riding at all:(

Friends grand-daughter has taken to riding like a duck to water, Granny's ride and drive mini-shetland is her mount, trotting is known as 'boing' by the 2 1/2 year old :D Oh and she went to the boxing day meet on him this year :)

bless them. After almost 4 years in may i have gone and got my little girl whos 11year old a pony. :) she is on top of the world at the min with her new pony billy. She has always been there helping with my horse and having ago on mine. I always have my heart at my feet when she rides mine as she is 15,2. So last 3 days been trying to hide it from her we gave her a pony of her own.

Honestly when mums I know think I am mad re horses, I'd much rather my kids have a hobby which they love and I can enjoy with them, knowing when my 6yo hits teenage years she isn't going to be hanging around shopping centres, she is hopefully going to be prepping for a show the following morning which means early night:) that's the way it was for me when I was a teenager.

My best friend when a kid competing on ponies was a boy. Not sure we ever admitted we were even friends but we spent most days together doing the ponies, went to comps and PC, lived in the same street and I fancied his brother who was my age and is now my vet :D

Why would your oh mind?

In fairness my oh was thrilled which shocked me:) and he has said sure when he is a teenager he will be surrounded by girls!! Lol

We have two lads competing at our yard - one 13 the other 15 and the girls (riding school so lots of totty from 11 to 73:D) are around them like bees around honey :D

I have two girls, my eldest (6) is more than happy sitting on my pony as long as he's being led and she can look around and be nosy - not at all bothered and is more into dance - that's fine with me.

My Youngest (4) is a daredevil/tom boy - bigger the horse the better, loves the stables, feeds the biggest horses carrots and loves to ride - although I think she's too young to take proper lessons and I'll wait a couple of years to make sure it's for her and not be a pushy mum. :)
