Well I took 2 saddles that I wanted to sell, see if I could get a reasonable price for them as they are both immaculate and nearly new condition. Was heartily offended with the price offered for my beloved Kings saddle, so it came home, but decided the show saddle could go. Offer was a little low but decided I could live with it rather than hang on to a saddle for months until I got a private sale.

So, I'm in Rideaway, money burning a hole in my pocket, surrounded by sale offers and 10% off everything that wasn't in the sale... oh the temptations!

So I got a new pair of jods to do endurance in, nice and thin, for £15.99. A bit for Ivy for £10 (french link fulmer), some Stubben Hammanol seeing as everyone raves about it, a front riser pad for my saddle, biccies for the ponies, a saddle cloth for £9.50 - IN PINK! and....

Ok.....

I confess.....

Asti REALLY, REALLY needed a new turnout rug. HONEST!!!! Well her combo rug is driving her insane - she hates having a neck cover on - so Ivy will be inheriting that. She's outgrown my old seperate neck rug. So she's been wearing a 12yo rug that isn't exactly the warmest or most waterproof...

So I got this... ruinously expensive (but with £25 off) and it IS the only style that really fits well, and it won't need an under-rug and I can get a summer neck cover to add if the weather is really bad...

AND when I turned her out yesterday after riding, when usually the first thing she does is roll as she's got a bit sweaty, I told her if she didn't roll, I'd give her an extra huge tea with an extra scoop of course mix.

Now the field is very muddy -

So what did she come in from the field looking like?

Still like this of course! I love my pony!!!! This was taken before she went out this morning, after a whole day out yesterday. Bless her. Have repeated the bribe, but not expecting her to still be clean today though...

Nice rug - glad to see your hossie respects it! I bought two of these WB Freestyle Contour turnouts for my two - the heavyweight full neck version. Both horses are 16hh ISH. On one horse the fit was so awful I've had to put the rug on ebay, but on the other horse it fits beautifully. The horse it fits well is finer than the other one, so I wouldn't recommend this style for well built horses (or go a size up maybe). They are lovely and weatherproof, and so cosy inside I almost wish I was a horse!

LOL
I have that rug for winston (but combo) plus the matching stable rug.
The stable rug looks filthy

the NZ is still in the packaging cos i know it would come in looking BLACK after winst had finsihed with it - so waiting till its really dry lol

LOL money well spent! I am catalogue queen by the way. My mare always lets me know whether she hates her rugs or not. Funny all her stable rugs she gets really horrible, but her new shires one is still pristine. chillcheeta - I got her a mark todd one, but she poos and wees on it all the time lol.

She has the matching stable rug in smoke/silver (half price bargain a few weeks ago) and in ruby/ash!

Oh and the ruby/ash fleece...

I've gone off Masta's as the neck seems too high cut and digs in when they have their heads down to eat, plus they are really tight on her shoulders but going up a size doesn't help. Mark Todds are too high cut and tight too. Even in 6'6...

So this is brillant on her shoulders as she's really big shouldered for a little mare, and they don't rub, and I can even get away with a 6 foot now, though the turnout was 6'3.

So many rugs seem to be designed for those plastic horses that never put their heads down

I agree - my mare has big shoulders and seems to go between three different rug sizes. I have had to send some back because they just don't fit. she's an awkward one. designed for plastic horses! quite agree! guess people make clothes for plastic barbies too? lol
