Well I took 2 saddles that I wanted to sell, see if I could get a reasonable price for them as they are both immaculate and nearly new condition. Was heartily offended with the price offered for my beloved Kings saddle, so it came home, but decided the show saddle could go. Offer was a little low but decided I could live with it rather than hang on to a saddle for months until I got a private sale.
So, I'm in Rideaway, money burning a hole in my pocket, surrounded by sale offers and 10% off everything that wasn't in the sale... oh the temptations!
So I got a new pair of jods to do endurance in, nice and thin, for £15.99. A bit for Ivy for £10 (french link fulmer), some Stubben Hammanol seeing as everyone raves about it, a front riser pad for my saddle, biccies for the ponies, a saddle cloth for £9.50 - IN PINK! and....
Ok.....
I confess.....
Asti REALLY, REALLY needed a new turnout rug. HONEST!!!! Well her combo rug is driving her insane - she hates having a neck cover on - so Ivy will be inheriting that. She's outgrown my old seperate neck rug. So she's been wearing a 12yo rug that isn't exactly the warmest or most waterproof...
So I got this... ruinously expensive (but with £25 off) and it IS the only style that really fits well, and it won't need an under-rug and I can get a summer neck cover to add if the weather is really bad...
AND when I turned her out yesterday after riding, when usually the first thing she does is roll as she's got a bit sweaty, I told her if she didn't roll, I'd give her an extra huge tea with an extra scoop of course mix.
Now the field is very muddy -
So what did she come in from the field looking like?
Still like this of course! I love my pony!!!! This was taken before she went out this morning, after a whole day out yesterday. Bless her. Have repeated the bribe, but not expecting her to still be clean today though...
