Has anyone ever done one of these? You do a course of XC fences, then a walk section (translated as a rest) then open and close a gate and then go and showjump! Sounds like fun - never heard of it before and thought I would give it a go as I am doomed on the BE front this year!!

Ground there is really good apart from a small patch through the only wooded bit. I schooled there last weekend and was amazed how dry it was. Course was disapointing in comarison with aylesford ( but still much much nicer than newton) only in the fact no selection of jumps just one option nearly all the way round and the water is a 12 ft by 12 ft square with only a couple of options, is a real galloping course with loads of long uphills to play on.
No way they will cancel either as been open through all the bad weather.
Enjoy sounds like it should be fun

Well we just want to get them out, Id be in right panics if Eland hadnt have run last weekedn, but luckily thats "refreshed" XC in my boys mind! Are there any other XC courses in Notts that you know are ope, other than Aylesford and Newton!? Done them both to death!!

Aylesford was closed as was newton the weekend we went.

Not sure if Danethorpe or trowell are open?? although have to admit to not being a fan of either course.

Not sure how far you want to travel but grange de lings is another lovely course to play round they are lincoln way...

Didn't know they were still running .Years ago my daughter won the final two years in a row and got £500 the first year and shared it[equal first] the next year.
I thought they only did the dressage and show jumping ones now.
