Hi, not been on here for probably 6 months or more.
I have a small amount of inheritance money coming my way middle of December so I've decided to apply for the UKNHCP (UK Natural Hoof Care Practitioner) course. I have until 20th Jan to get my application in.
I've been trimming my pair for the last 2 years and on the advice of Mark Johnson, I've managed to get between 15 and 20 case studies to trim to support my application, including a laminitic shetland who I've been trimming for the past 3 months. I'm also going to go out on a Saturday shadowing Mark to get more experience too - barefoot and traditional shoeing.
I've not yet started the portfolio but will be this weekend on 3 out of the 15 horses, plus my pair are due within the next two weeks.
I just thought I'd share this with you. Has anyone else done/doing this course? How are you finding it?
I guess I just need to get more fitter, I'm ok trimming the fronts but struggling with the hind feet as my leg muscles are weak!
