Also posted this in CR but thought it may get more views in here...

I had my TB scoped today for ulcers - he's gotten girthy since end of March time, when his workload picked up (corresponding with the increased daylight hours) and we started going out and about as I got the trailer. He got very grumpy being groomed in that general area, and when doing the girth up has started cribbing on the fence post near where he is tied up. I spoke to my vets and as they were running a drug company sponsored scope day I booked him in (as there was a 75% discount).

Unfortunately he has quite severe ulcers in his stomach, on the glandular tissue and also in his duodenum so is now on a 28 day course of GG and needs to go back in a month. Vets estimate a good 4 months worth of treatment to clear it all up.

My only concern is he has an exclusion for colic on his policy - it states 'claims resulting from or connected to conditions causing the clinical signs of colic' - I rang insurers today and they said to submit the claim, but did say the exclusion does say colic, so thought it should be ok but of course couldn't guarantee . I'm just worried as I think ulcers can cause colic? I don't think I can afford the month of treatment, nevermind 4 months if they turn the claim down. Has anyone ever had an exclusion for colic and then a pay out for ulcers??? His colic was actually a displaced colon so a total freak occurance and in all the time I've had him he has never had any colic symptoms other than that one instance so I'd struggle to connect the two, but I'm wary of insurers

Also, whilst doing the scope vet found some nasal polyps, she's doing some research into them, but just wondered if anyone had come across these before? He is a special boy, so would typically have something to flumox the vet
