ok long long story but my mare that i broke and have had for 3 yrs, shes just turned 8, was a quiet and lovely horse to ride, she was a little spooky in obvious situations but just a pleasure really, 6 months ago she started to do what i can only describe as flinch away from me under the saddle, all her muscles would tense and she felt like a time bomb, so i had her back checked which resulted in new saddle, while waiting for her new saddle we did lots of ground work and she was great, but again since being back on her the last 8 weeks she is a nightmare, she jumps out of her skin at everything, she has become a danger in traffic, infact i hate getting on her now which really upsets me as its so frustrating. all obvious causes teeth,eyes, tack, back checked, she lives out 24/7 and is only on enough feed to soak up her mah calmer. i'm at my wits end as shes becoming a danger to us both, i've broken many horses and am not a novice, even the trainer where i keep her is baffled. my only last thing i haven't thought of is maybe ulcers??
