I have an Arab X Welsh who is a grumpy bum but that has always been his way!!. Bucking in the stable for attention and trying to bite people who walks past!!. He's on Bute daily for his Degenarative Joint Disease and has to be stabled most time due to the field I've been given for both my ponies not having any grass and I'm not allowed to move fields!!. I've always been able to tell when he's in pain due to his joints as twice he's bitten me by mistake, both times the day after he's been lame and vet has seen him. Recently I've been off work which is where they have been kept but have been trying to bring them in around the same time, I've noticed no matter how hard I try and keep weight on him he's never what I call gaining any, he's certainly not thin but he's always had a good coverage!!. He picks at all his feed but has got extremely grumpy in his stable and now stands kicking the wall between him and my other. Not sure if I'm over worrying myself or if could possibly be ulcers, or he's just fed up?!. Im currently not able to ride but try and spend time with both of them.
