A person on our yard has a typical cob. It’s quite laid back but a very decent sort. The owner has had the vet out who has stated it needs to loose some weight

the owner feeds it 20lbs of hay a day and a small feed. It’s in from 5 until 10am by 7pm it’s eaten all it’s hay and daily goes without food for 15 hours

the whole yard is concerned it will get ulcers but the owner says it needs to loose weight and fine

any views. The owner says the vet is happy with what they are doing as the horse is overweight

I'm confused, its eating 20lb of hay in 2 hrs?
To be honest, I'd move, you have someone with a rig that attacks yours. Another that apparently look after their horse as its obese but also has nothing to eat according to you.

Why not let others manage their horses and you manage yours?
If its desperate, get yard owner involved. Otherwise crack on with yours as not your circus.

Do you really have to be so awful and negative I’ve asked for a straight answer not trawl through my past posts to put a novel together with everything said previously. I didn’t ask for the answer you gave so don’t comment if you can’t be nice

Maybe set your question out a little better then?
As I said, its something to keep noses out of as long as the animal is fed.
Sounds a pretty bitchy yard.....
