hello, this is my first post on here :)

My horse has just been scoped and found that she has ulcers, i am wondering what feeds are best and if anyone has any recommendations.

she is currently on top spec Ulsakind cubes, fibre fusion and ultimate balancer from Dodson and Horrell. does anyone have anything good or bad to say about these? she is also on coligone powder and being treated for her ulcers - vets have given us sucralfate and she is having weekly omeprazole injections.

I am becoming slightly obsessive looking at all different brands, types of horse feeds, and facebook groups to find what is the best... i think its almost impossible!!!

I've found that every person will give you different advice and have different opinions on what to feed.
I will say that what your currently feeding is quite high in sugar and starch which you want to avoid with ulcers.
My advice would be to contact and independent nutritionist who can give you independent advice tailored to your horse. Just because something claims to be ulcer friendly or low in starch doesn't necessarily mean it is ... It's just clever marketing

Thank you for your reply, that’s what I was thinking too, I might see if I can find a nutritionist. I’ve looked too much at what different feeds have in them and I don’t think I’ll ever be sure with my choice
Thanks again :)
