Traipsing across the field at 4:45 a.m. in the morning
, in the dark on my own
, with a covering of fog and mist was rather daunting to say the least!
.... However, it was well and truly worth it!!!

Rox qualified last week at Epworth for the Ultimate Showcase of Champions in Harrogate at the Yorkshire Showground yesterday. He went in two classes and did me proud, he behaved so well and took it all in his stride, I am a very proud mum!
My friend Davina showed him for me as I can't run due to a bad ankle break last year. My two other friends Emma and Sarah came with us to give us a helping hand and we had an absolute ball. Talk about laughing - I have never laughed so much in a long time! We had an awesome time, the show was set up really well, and we enjoyed every minute.
First of all Rox went in the Youngstock 2 - 3 year old class. He came 9th out of 18 horses. He was so well behaved in the ring. I was so shocked and proud, I was really pleased with the result. Afterwards, the judges steward that qualified us last week, approached me and told me not to be too disheartened as the judge in the ring was a welsh judge, hence the more native types being placed higher. She said Rox was a lovely horse and would do well in the coloureds. I could feel myself welling up! It was so lovely for her to come find me and approach me, it meant alot!
Rox then went in the coloured class and won out of 13 horses! Shocked just isn't the word for it, it was sheer disbelief!! My friend Emma said to me, "Laura, Rox has won!", I said "no he hasn't", she said "yes he has, look, Rox has won, he's been pulled out first". Confused, I was looking at her, looking at Rox in the line up, looking back at Emma, then at my friend Sarah for confirmation, OH MY GOD MY PONY WON!!!!!
The judge presented him with his 1st place rosette and sash, Davina put it on him and then the photographer snapped away. Then Rox lead the lap of honour and he let out some MASSIVE bucks, it was as if he was showing off as he knew he had done so well!
I am still in shock, it is totally euphoric! I am over the moon, elated just doesn't sum up the feeling I have! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful pony, such great friends, the opportunity to qualify for such a show, the lovely judges, and then to get placed so well! My word!!! I owe massive thanks to all of those people that have supported me, that is including HHO and CSP posters that wished us luck, but also I couldn't have done it without my friends!
Thank you!! xx

I met maybedaisy and lorilingo from HHO yesterday at the show, nice to meet you guys! I hope you had a lovely day and did well. Who else went? Did you have a good time, any photos to add?
Here's a link to my facebook album for now, feel free to add me as a friend if you can't view the pictures. I will upload some pictures on this thread at some point today, however, my photobucket account is on a major go slow!! xx http://www.facebook.com/?sk=media#!/album.php?id=626507929&aid=246213
