Ultrasound Costs

Could anyone give me a rough idea of how much an ultrasound is, for a dog? My 12 year old weimeraner has lost loads of weight recently and blood tests have pointed towards his liver, so he is going in Monday to be scanned to see what they can see. Fingers x'ed

it really depends if they want to knock him out. We took our whippet to the vets and they scanned her tummy and it cost us £30 plus the usual walk-in fee ! I was gobsmacked, I expected it to be way more than that.

He will be sedated for it (he hates vets so its for everyones benefit!)

Depends on need for sedation and also on level of skill of the person doing the ultrasound!

I recently paid £45 for a single organ ultrasound, was £97 for anaesthesia though as he also had x-rays and was out for over an hour, that's for a 24kg dog, will vary by size of dog and whether they can get away with sedation instead.
