just wondering if this would be the safest option,
bascally the horse i loan had hunted loads there for, travelled loads, when i took him on he hadnt done anything for about 18months, i asked his owner if i could take him xc schooling one evening, she said she would meet us over there, was grabbing a lift with another horse, she said we would have no trouble loading/traveling
well he virtually loaded himself at full charge! we put the other horse on jumped in the car and there was an almighty racket! he was trying to come out the side of the trailer, we took other horse off immidiatly and tried to settle him, took him off, he charged back in again but once in had a fit, so gave up, his owner was really suprised but couldnt work out if it was because the other horse freaked him out, weather it was because it was dinner time, or just the fact he was being a git! so i spent a couple of weeks putting him in my trailer without a partition and took him for a quick spin and to a show and he traveled fine and loads himself in! but i really want to be able to go for rides or shows with a friend, he gets on marvelosly with her horse so thought we'd give it a go putting them together..... im trying to think of the safest way to see how they are, this is what i thought of, put mine in first on the left side, this is where he was when he through himself sideways and as he had the side of the trailer to brace on, rather than his legs going under the partition..then put hers on the right side with the bar down at the front for quick exit if needs be! and if they seem fine just treat them and take off again and do this a few times untill will can shut the whole trailer up and then progress to a quick journey, but was wondering if there was a safer option? i dont want her horse being injured or for mine to come out the side! she's just as keen to try to be able to come out with me,
i still need to try him with the partition as i left mine out as someone suggested but when he travelled he was dead straight on the right side of the trailer so its not like he needs to travel sideways! i just now have a fear of trying him with something else! but its got to be done im the only person on my yard with transport so dont want a lonely show season!!! any other idea's would be gratefull!!
