I rode Connie today, the Hackney. Decided we'd take them for a canter. Connie's never been cantered with us before, she normally just trots.
So i kicked her on, she trotted. I kicked her on again, and she was doing the fastest big hackney trot i have ever seen or ridden. It was really wierd to ride but the people with me were laughing at her, they said it looked like she was dancing
Anyway, kicked her on to canter, and she went mental!
She bucked once, then did her funny trot, and tried to swing her back end round. I was having none of it so was kicking her on, she settled into trot, then blacky cantered past her and she had a bucking fit, 4 or 5 pretty big jumps!!
I was pleased i stayed on
J and W were peeing theirselves laughing at my "connie! stop being a retard/tube/eejit
It was pretty funny but yeah, connie does NOT canter! Fair enough, Hackneys aren't really cantering ponies, although she seems to find the ability to canter perfectly well when you're trying to catch her
Just after we got back from riding, YO came out (we're a rescue centre) and asked me to go with her to help catch a badger. Great i thought, bit of excitement. We had a grid reference and a very vague description - in an open pasture, between a fence and a dyke
So we stopped off at the vets to look at there map and find out where it was and went off in the car. Got there and there was 5 fields matching that description, and let me tell you they weren't small! lol. Anyway, about 2 hours later of walking up and down scouring these fields for the badger we couldn't find it so had to go back home.
It's annoying the man said it had been there for a whole day, but only called the next morning, and he never left his number or we could have asked him to show us where it was. And apparently it was 14 inches long, lmao! Did he measure it or something?
Then we rescued a sheep stuck on it's back lol.
So yeah, eventful day
