Does anybody know how this can affect a horse and its future?
Seen an add for a horse (not looking to buy this particular one) and just wondered what the long term will hold for a horse that has a lopsided behind? The add does specify that this horse is suitable for hacking only.
As I have said I am not looking to buy this horse I am just curious about this problem,.... if it would hinder the horse or if it would be on life time meds etc etc.
Thanks

Sacrioliac Issues - means has has an injury to pelvis in the past.

Would not pass a vetting, and can cause back trouble, and back leg problems.

Ive had an ex racer with this and it was heartbreaking.

I agree this could be sacroiliac injury. Look in any vet manual and they will have a drawing of a horse's hindquarters and wasting on one side, as an illustration of this. My horse had this, secondary to spavin. He had 9 months rest at paddock and healed very well. BUT he did not have wasting that you could see, it was probably mild.
I wonder if these people have any explanation that they are willing to give for this visible issue?
I would not buy a horse with this kind of thing, but then again, I would not buy a horse for myself without a 5 stage vet exam.

Apparently this horse was born like it, and the owner said it does not hinder the horse at all, in fact he loves hacking and is suitable for a hacking home only.
