Hi all
I am looking for some nice straightforward, unaff ODE or HTs. Ideally small courses, upto 65cm for novice horses. I use Riding Diary but quite often I hear of events after they have happened which is maddening!

I know they do an unaff at Kelsall sometimes... Does anyone know if there is one coming up?

Alternatively, any others which people know of? Ideally no more than hours drive of Gisburn in East Lancs...

Thanks

It is Mawdsley, I think they do have a website but in phone which is useless :o
Also try Charity farm in Parbold.

Antrobus hold 2 beginners ode's a year, I think they are 2ft - they are super friendly and designed for people who are doing their first ode or nervous /novice combinations. :). Think that would be within an hour, certainly no further than kelsall.

Smallwood near somerford also do small ode's a bit more organised and official than antrobus, think they are about 2ft3, with water etc.

Bold Heath also run ode's but I've not been, so don't know what they are like, but I've been to dressage an arena eventing there and it's run well.

Agree with Smallwood, always very well run, but will probably be over an hour's drive from you, would you be prepared to travel further?

Bold Heath will run as an arena event in case of bad weather and they put workers type fences and portable XC one's in their large outdoor, again as BlairandAzria says, well run

PF&CH PC will be having a Hunter Trials on the 7th Sept at Craven Country Ride, don't think the schedule is out yet, but it normally starts around the 2'6" mark from memory, let me know if you need a schedule

If you were OK to travel further, try Eleanor Mercer Equestrian at Bedale, they run mini ODE's & HT's from 1'6" up to 2'6", lovely venue and a good selection of jumps, or Northallerton Equestrian Centre

Others are Wilmslow RC and & Oxenholme PC but not sure what heights they start at

Church Farm I think have had theirs, and the XC part tends to be in their Derby field and using workers fences, again well run. You could also try Charity Farm, similar area to Church Farm so nearer for you. It's a long time since I've been but Beacon Riding Club always seemed a friendly bunch

Hope that helps :)

Wow thanks for the help!! I would love a schedule for the craven HT when it's out please! I had heated about Eleanor Mercers... Just suspect it will be a long journey?
