Unaffiliated dressage - can I ride in half chaps?

I am doing unaffiliated dressage soon, albeit at a competition running along side affiliated classes. My new long boots have rubbed my inside leg raw and I simply can't bear to wear them.
Will the judge be offended if I ride in black half chaps, (neoprene not leather gaiters )with black boots?
I know BD say gaiters but do you think anyone would comment?

I've ridden BD in short boots and gaiters, noone batts an eyelid

I think its yes for gaiters, no for chaps...

If it's unaff I don't think it will matter. I'd contact the organiser and ask them.

oh i ride in brown joddy boots and brown leather half chaps and no-one says anything. Wouldnt worry
