Hi

Does anyone have any details about an unaffiliated ODE at South of England Showground this spring?

I think that it was the weekend after the BE event last year but can't find any details about it anywhere, not sure which riding club runs it or anything.

Also, does anyone know which of the unaffiliated classes runs along the same lines as the PN there?

Looking to compete there but the person I would be going with isn't BE registered.

Thanks

Id love to know about this as well

My daughter is doing it if you look on Ardingly riding clubs website everything is there. Its the weekend of 26-27th April

Its all unaffiliated so anyone can go

if you want to do the BE one the details are on BE website but no point if not registered and I think the entries are closed now except Novice

BE one is not closed yet - only opened Friday.

Im entering the OPN tonight - you just gave me a heart attack!!

Thanks for the info, does anyone know what the open class is like? Whether it uses some of the smaller PN fences, whether it is mainly made up of portable fences etc?

I'm keen to do it but need fairly solid fences for my horse really so we don't trip over them.....

The open is over some pretty beefy fences, my mate does them every year - big trakehner, coffin, steps, drop fences etc and more technical fences.

I am planning on doing the 2'9" if the slut mix works on my mare and she starts to behave herself,

The fences are usually up to height and the XC are soild and well built. If you look at the schedule it gives you a good idea of standard. The PN does use PN fenced as said above (haycart Trekhner etc) My 12 yo wasnt fazed but the novice class (2ft 9") but she is brave!! she didnt like the steep down hill though with a jump at the bottom in the corner!!

Im going on my mare as its such a brill ODE even though she is doing BE this year as its a good practice and not too far away!

Thanks for all the posts on this, I'm going to get my entry in soon!

I spoke to the organisers and it sounds like a really well run ODE, I just had some initial concerns because you never really know what to expect with unaffiliated events and I hate those portable fences that look like somebody's grandad built them in the shed overnight!

Might see some of you there then, I'll be doing the open.
