Unbalanced

As some of you know I've been looking for a pony for a long time and I found a 14.1hh chestnut mare and she is now all settled in at the livery yard. First ride on her today and she was good but a bit unbalanced. Instead of curving around corners she was doing lots of straight little lines. I'm going to practice lots of circles and bends have you got any other suggestions how to help her become more balanced because at the moment we are having problems cantering a full lap of the school because she can't do the corners

The best thing for her will be trotting on the lunge line.

I would put her in the pessoa and work up gently this helps them to work from behind and lighter up front, good luck.
