Is the taxman aware of these little enterprises?

ETA just read properly and did a bit of Googling which probably renders my original question invalid - my word  :( :(

What a lovely couple:rolleyes:I imagine they are operating within the law but what person in their right mind would choose to buy a puppy which has come from these premises. Most people wouldnt but think nothing of buying from a petshop or internet sites and never question where the puppy was bred and were the parents health tested.

Why are there so many puppy farms in Wales?. I know Welsh Farmers keep sheep and for many years have scratched a living as sheep prices fell but in the last year there has been an upturn in prices . I wonder if grants have been available to farmers who diversify thus giving them money to kit out premises for puppy farming.

Before that place was Dogs4Us it was Mayfield kennels, notorious in the Manchester area and back in the 70s my mum was part of a number of breeders who tried to get the place closed down, without success.

I could probably fill a kennel block with rescues bred by this place (the rescue isn't far from Manchester) and the health and behavioural problems some of these dogs display is horrific. Not to mention the kinds of home SOME of them have come from, it really does attract the lowest common denominator it seems.
That a kennel like this can exist in 21st century England is appalling IMO.

What you say does not surprise me at all. Dogs4Us do not breed any dogs themselves they buy all in they say from licensed premises what they mean is commercial breeders/puppy farmers who breed specifically puppies for the pet trade and sell their puppies to dealers and pet shops. Most are based in Wales, N Ireland, but it is known that some in England provide them with puppies too and not forgetting Eire where until 1st Jan this year there was no licensing for dog breeders who wished to breed from their dogs.

If you can identify any details of puppies/dogs that enter rescue with their details such as where bred and their problems would be please to receive that info as all info is collated and useful.

Dogs4Us making a half-hearted attempt to defend their enterprise...
