I ride once a week at a riding stable, and recently have found that I have intense nerves. I am never under any pressure, and no one expects anything of me.
As soon as I get on, I'm fine, and most of the nerves go. Any tips?

I think I'm down to ride a very fast pony, any tips?

I'm going in 15mins, so any helpful tips are appreciated, and nothing negative please, this really isn't the time for me!

Thanks for bearing with me and for all help!

Proper breathing always helps to calm nerves, breath in through your nose for a count of five and out through your mouth for a count of ten. does two things, stops hyperventilation and gives you something to focus on, do the breathing exersise all the way to the stables.

I agree with the breathing and try drinking a bottle of water slowly through a straw, also get some Bach Rescue Remedy which is natural and a good calmer for humans and animals. It's all about diverting the mind. I went through a phase years ago of getting terribly worked up before lessons and I would either be sick or faint! It's horribly unpleasant and there's no quick and easy solution, just be brave and keep on facing it and telling yourself how well you've done, it's not condescending at all as anxiety/nerves can be very frightening.

I hope you got on OK and had a fab lesson :)
