What do people use I use thin liners for some of my turnout rugs but wanted to put something under the ones that dont have a liner system, I was looking at snuggy body rugs but they are nearly £100 I use the turnout necks already, I have tried fleece but they just stretch pull and cause static, I did find some quilted shoulder protectors so was thinking use them with a summer sheet on top it might help to stop them pulling, my friend uses summer sheets under all her rugs but hers are ponies and it does work, then the sheets just get washed regularly to keep the rugs a bit cleaner.

i have used the liners under all rugs, i don't find that they move if you have clips at the back.

I suppose I could do that but most of mine are 100g and some of my thicker rugs won't need another 100g if you know what I mean I just literally need a barrier rug, but thanks for that I could customise the ones I have to allow for the liners to work with everything.

I agree that there’s a market for no fill clip in liners that can be interchanged and washed regularly, just like the ‘weighted’ liners.

There definitely is I was considering the snuggy petticoat but they are not highly rated, we need to design one and get it made I was considering a sweet itch body rug but they are a fortune as well, and I know the lady at cornerstone makes them made to measure so I could maybe change the design to what I want but again they won't be cheap.

I use the mio stable sheets as they're more of a nylon type material and so they don't rub or pull back and they're also breathable and wicking.

I wish someone would design a no fill liner too!

I use a no-fill turnout that I've had for ages that's not really waterproof any more. Does the job, doesn't move or stretch and it's the same make and model as the other turnouts I have so I know it fits.

Funnily enough I was just looking at the mesh type coolers I will have a look at the mio but the turnouts don't seem to fit my horses very well but thank you

I use cotton sheets. They are fastened at the front as normal, have a belly band with 3 T bar fastenings on either side so if it is wet the band can be changed without removing the rugs and I clip the fillet string to the sheet and the turnout. I change the sheets at least once a week.
When it is very cold I have some quilted under rugs I made years ago. They fit in the same way but have X overs straps not belly bands and are shorter in depth.
My horses have worn the sheet, the under rug and a turnout all together without problem.
I have an industrial sewing machine and regularly alter and mend sheets and rugs.

They're quite a generous cut compared to some of their other rugs so they may be ok. Most of the mesh type coolers I find slip back and rub the shoulders but others might have had different experiences.

What make sheets are they as I would rather the surcingle you have rather than 2 cross over ones, it's just less for them to get caught up in as I want them for turnout as well.

Airmax?

Are you literally just looking for something to keep the inside of your turnouts cleaner? Maybe a cotton sheet? Again Rambo do a few but I'd guess lots of brands do them so you'd probably have a good choice of colours!

Or something like this?

I did see those but I didn't really want to spend so much as I need 2 as have 2 horses, yes just want a clean thin layer that I can machine wash I might see how much Christmas money I have left and splash out on 2 of those if the sheets don't work.

I use any cotton sheet of the right size, usually bought as ‘ nearly new’. I alter them to fit, make the belly bands and put the fittings on the sheets.

I use 50 gram Mio stable rugs I don’t know if they still make them but they are great you can wash them and have them back on horse in six hours if you have warm place to dry them .
I also have a thick Mio stable sheet in a sort knitted fabric it’s brilliant as well .
rugs used as liners need to fit if they are too big it just does not work .
