Fly has had trouble keeping his shoes on recently so the last time he was shod the farrier in my opinion "undershod" him to the point that I immediately felt he was walking differently. I asked other peoples opinions on how he looked and was reassured that he was ok but this nagging doubt would not go away. Surfice to say, I let 4 weeks go by and then called him up and asked him to re shoe. I told him my worries and he did say that this was the only way to keep the shoes on. (he is incredibly close at the back and treads on himself thus pulling shoes off). He went up a size and immediately Fly walked better and seemed more comfortable. On the down side.....back shoe is off, 1 week later. Have tried a different farrier whilst mine was on holiday and it was exactly the same. Has anyone else had this experience and what did you do?

mine pulls shoes so my farrier makes her shoes and takes some of the edges off and chamfers the side of the shoe wall in line with the angle of her hoof. He doesn't shoe her leaving long ends showing behind her heel as she will also pull them off from there as well. This horse can loose a shoe in it's stable let alone out in a field.
