underlying issue- are these related?

Do all these "symptoms" add up or are they independent to one another?

Horse is grabbing right hand side of the bit (?? my hands)
Muscle wastage/less development on left of withers
Not over tracking as much with right hind on right rein
Right hind not landing cleanly in walk (scuffing)

She did have a couple of kick injuries to her right hind last summer that have scarred the muscle. could this be the cause of the problems? do the symptoms not link together?

Just pondering!
 
Quite possibly linked - have you had her checked by vet and or physio as sounds like she may have some musculoskeletal problems, possibly due to her kick - have you also had her teeth checked?
 
haven't had these problems checked by vet - although got one coming next week for jabs, so will ask then.

teeth have been checked and found a "bit seat" on right hand side of her mouth. I knew right side of mouth is different, but she certainly doesn't grab the bit and run. I'm currently trying different bits as wondered whether there was too much movement in her mouth (it was a lozenge loose ring).

don;t know of any local physios and after watching her on the lunge last night started to put these things together. hadn't notice her scufff her right foot before (although school is usually so wet it wouldn't show up).
 
if she is grabbing the RHS of the bit, it means she is proably not taking the contact on the RHS, this would link to the LHS of withers not developing as well as when working on the RH rein its actually the muscles on the LHS which work when in right flexion etc, so if she is unable to do this voila! less muscle development.

and the right hind leg could probably be due to the kick injury. And this could explain why she is struggling to carry herself and work consistently..........

I agree, teeth check, physio check (not just back, but from head to bum! as jaws can sometimes need realligning! my friends horse needed this!) and ask your vet about her hind limb movement etc, and get them to check her teeth as well!! as they may have some suggestions and ability to rectify it!

i would say those are all realted and it sounds like there is a problem/pain somewhere. get your vet to thoroughly examine your horse and to recommend a physio (they have to have your vets permission to treat your horse)
good luck and i hope horse is on the mend soon.
