awww she's lovely! I love a BOGOF!

I also had a friend who didn't know the pony they'd bought was in foal.

Foal was duely born but wriggled (I guess?) under the barn door (which for those who are worried had a big gap to the floor) so when she arrived she thought the mare had haemorrhaged! Called vet. Vet says "where's the foal?"

All well in the end. But a big shock.

Absolutely amazing I lost my foal last month so enjoy your little surprise well done mum for doing it all by herself

That's lovely - I've been the first on the yard when a foal was born (also BOGOF but we knew by then) and it was such a privilege. He's a strapping 5yo now and his baby photos pop up on my FB timeline every year and I tell him I was the first human you ever saw. Pretty sure he can't remember and couldn't care less!!!

Any idea who daddy is?

Me too, it was a little black filly from a maiden pony mare. The mare didn't know what to do so the cow farmer who arrived not long after me told me to help the foal stand up and guide her so she could have her first drink. It was an amazing experience.
