Unfixed Portable Fences - Arena Eventing

We have a yard by us which is going to be running arena eventing clinics.

The jumps are 90cms.

I have been made aware on HHO about the dangers of unfixed portable fences when doing XC but wonder if the fences can still be achored in an arena. Surley this would damage the arena surface??

So, should portables be fixed in an arena also?
