Tonight i went to take my mare out of her stable to tie her up whilst i mucked out. When i went to get her she spun round with her bum facing me, and dodged from side to side, as if not wanting to be caught. Put head collar on and tied here up.

After i finished her jobs i put her back in her stable, but when i went to undo head collar she reared up

so i tried again and eventually got it off. This is nothing like her. Now i am guessing she must have bashed herself on something, and did not want me to touch her face. Have left her eating haylage, and seems ok if you dont touch her. We have the windows that have plastic panels in and one was on the floor.

Ideas? Should i see how she is tomorrow??

Can't suggest anything but if she's eating okay, you can probably safely leave her to tomorrow. If she's still the same and nothing is visibly wrong, I'd call the vet. He can sedate her and have a proper look.

Only other thing I can think of is could she have been a bit warm in her rugs? I know a few horses who get really grumpy if they get too warm?

It is so difficult when you can't put your finger on what's wrong, I hope she is back to herself in the morning

Perhaps she bashed her head/poll on the window, not having realised it was there (if it was clear she may not have seen it properly). Have a good (gentle) prod at her head tomorrow to see if she's done herself any damage.
Poor girl, it's a hard life being a horse.

Thanks everyone.
I will see how she is tomorrow. It was just her head, and where neck joins head underneath, she didnt want me to go near.
She had to stay in today due to this bad weather, so she wont of liked that either.
Will try and have a look/feel but i was due to go to bsja on weds.
