Unknown White Mark

My 15.2 dark bay gelding has a white 'U' shape mark on his back and I was hoping someone could shed some light on what this means. (I would insert a picture of it but can't figure out how to do this in a post!

)

I bought Jack four months ago by sales livery and therefore little is known about his history other than he was with his previous owner for 8 years (he is now 12). His passport doesnt have the white 'U' mark recorded and his breeding is stated as unknown.

If any one could help solve the mystery of the white mark it would be much appreciated.

Im not registered on Facebook so cant see the pic. Is the mark just behind the withers? Could it be a microchip freeze mark?

A MicroMark has been launched, in the shape of an upside down Omega, shows that the horse has been microchipped. I think it could be this?

This is indeed an upside down Omega so I would say JoBo's answer is correct. Has his passport got a micro chip barcode/number in it?

Just means he has been microchipped
