Can any of you love people shed any light?

If a stallion was licensed over in Belgium, then brought to the UK but was unlicensed over here, subsequently covered a good few number of mares, how would you be able to get full papers? Is it possible?

My Westphalian stallion was approved BWP, when he was bought over to this country he was instantly accepted as Life Graded with the SHB(GB) because of his graded status abroad and then he was bumped upto Elite status when we got proof of his winnings abroad and some of his offsprings winnings.

HG - would you have to approach the society? surely wouldnt the owner have done this if they had planned on using him as a breeding stallion?

Looks like I may have to call the Zangeshiede stud for more info about it all.

I contacted SHB(GB) and spoke to them about it, they told me what they needed and I got the info (which basically wasn't alot has he was sent over with his BWP cover book and other bits and he was already on the WBFSH Stallion rankings as a sire in both the Show Jumping and Dressage sections), I think best to appraoch the society you want and they will tell you what they need, if the stallion is graded abroad then it should be as simple as overstamping!

Mag! I sometime take the tick out the add siggy box if the forum is playing up because it seems to help with posting

ah the thing is it isnt my stallion - tbh I dont have a clue who owns him but was told I might have to get in touch with the Zangeshiede stud for more info on him

Daisy the stallion is not really unlicensed then if he is a Licensed/Approved stallion with another Studbook...just because he is not with a UK Studbook does not mean that you cannot get papers and passport for the offspring. If you use a Zangersheide stallion then you would be able to register and brand your stock via them as you can register your mares with them for free!
