Horse is sound in walk on hard and soft ground. He's sound in trot in the school.

But, first few strides of trot on hard ground he's unsound, then he works though it and is fine.

Not sure it warrants the vet out at the moment but any ideas on what this could be as he's trotting it off okay??

Horse is barefoot as knacked a front hoof, the crack has about 1cm left to grow (was from coronet band) so initially I assumed it was that but he is still doing unsound strides with hoof boots on??

It was worse a few months ago and is getting better but still not right??

Sorry, i don't know but i would advise giving your vet a call and having a chat with him over the phone.
My vet is quite good at giving phone advice and often saves him coming out which save me on the bills!!!
