Car boot? Ebay? Have you a local tack shop that will sell 2nd hand items in good condition? Personally my fav is the car boot! Used to have the same rug obsession until I put the house on the market and the estate agent saw my rug room (yes! Rug room!) and said very innocently "Oh you run a tack shop from here too"
I've tried the local 2nd hand tack shop for some stuff but it didn't sell. I've never managed to register with Ebay (not good with computers).
Yes, I have a rug room too....my OH made me count my rugs last year...and I had something like 30 plus (for 3 horses) :O
But I'm still buying more....I need help...rehab...something
how many rugs??? ive only got 3, i bought him a month ago and swore he wouldnt get mollycoddled but already i want more! yes ebay, i get everything off of there, no time to walk to shops anymore, my lunchbreaks are used for the yard....
Hmmm...I'm a hoarder - I keep everything!! I've got loads of rugs, saddles, bridles, grooming kits etc - 'just in case' I end up with another horse that they fit....
Maybe I'll have another bash with Ebay....and start a support group for those of us with....ahem....problems..................
'My name's Shilasdair and I have a rug buying problem'
Or, maybe I need to get another 27 horses to fill my rugs???
S
Personally I am building up my own bit bank as I seem to own/been given so many of them!
But with stuff I have but never use I generally give it away or sell for a small amount to friends who do want it. Ask around the yard and see if ayone would like any of your excess stuff!
Weeell, if you can't master eBay, you COULD donate them to some horsey charity.
I hardly ever get rid of ANYthing though as I know I'll need it as soon as I don't have it any more! Have you got anything postable?
I'm always on the lookout for things I can't readily get here and might need one day

You should have asked me last month when I had a clear out of Aerborn numnahs (some still in wrappings as bought from their factory sale) and assorted other items.
The reason I don't use eBay to sell stuff is the hassle of wrapping it, taking it to a Post Office (not easy when you live in the styx), etc. If you cost up the personal time involved, it is rarely worth the effort!
There are 4 rugs hanging up in my garage which will never get used again. A fleece, a stable, a thermatex and a turnout. They are all either 5'9" of 6'. I cannot remember which and the size label is at the top end!

i do that too, i had to resist buying a bunch of stuff in a sale for 'my new horse' - since i havent found it or bought it yet i dont actually know what sizes i'll need
