my little mare has just flared up lots of little lumps on her side, although they are mainly on the right hand side, has anyone had anything like this before.Nothing has changed in her routine, rugs washed etc, also could i put anything on this to help with the irratation etc
thanks

She hasn't found a patch of nettles or thistles to roll in as mine did and came up all lumpy.Piriton tablets helped mine.

Hi, my mare gets this every year, always one one side. Never found a reason for it and it doesn't seem to bother her so i leave them alone. Luckily they're not near her saddle area so they don't irritate her, just look a little unsightly!
Bizarre!

When I checked on my boy one evening in the field, his entire underside was just covered in lumps. I could see the shape of his lumpy belly from a fair distance away but he didn't seem the slightest bit bothered. I think they were slightly itchy because as I ran my hands over to check each one he seemed to enjoy it. I just gave him piriton tablets for 3 days and they gradually went (Thank you to the person who highlighted you can buy 500 tablets for a tenner on the net!!:D) I still have no idea what had caused them, however have heard that if they move to a different type of grass, it can cause a reaction. They had moved into our hay fields a couple of days before so I think it was just this.
