At 23:53pm, 25/11/2012, had a phone call from a blocked number. A man with an English accent mentioned something along the lines that my horse will be hit. After putting the phone down on him twice, he rang back a third time stating he was PC Thomas from my local police force.

Something didn't add up though. I could hear another man in the background saying things, as if encouraging him to push for questions and details. There was a lot of TV noise in the background.

They asked me to describe my horse, which I refused to do. Then started trying to push me to answer how big she was, and what colour she was. They said there are horses loose on the M25, and they will be hit if the owners aren't found soon. Bearing in mind, the closest I'm too is the M4! My girly is locked up in her stable.

When asked, the Highways Agency said they have heard nothing about any loose horses and that to keep a look out as this is not normal.

Please, please be vigilant if they call, and do not give them any details!

Could be a way of getting you to leave your house, therefore freeing up time and space for burglars?

I would tell your local Police Community Supprt Officers, and also your local NW, as well as the above for where your horse is kept, if she is not kept at home. Also tell friends and neighbours.

It could just be stupid fools playing around, or something more planned. Nasty! Hope you get it sorted soon.

How very odd! Was this on your mobile or home? Very strange indeed, is your horse on livery where someone can keep an eye? Hope it is nothing to worry about!x

Thankfully, I am not living at home alone. So either way there plan would avail. However, they were too interested in my horse, wanted to know all details, her colour, height, description. It's enough to concern me, and keep others aware just incase.

My mobile, which is very strange! They blocked their number, and every time I hung up, rang me back straight away questioning. The yard owner lives on site, and has a few others living on site in houses too, so wouldn't get far with the guard dogs on site either!

Me too :( Hope my girl is okay x

Out of interest, do you have a horse advertised at the moment?

I do, and yesterday someone rang me time after time after time from a blocked number but when I answered it they didn't speak.

I think if someone needs to block their number, then they're not genuine. It's not something i'd ever do.

For future reference, it might be worth asking them who it is they think they're talking to. See if they know your name, see if they can describe your horse or know your location

Have you reported this to the police... If not, please do so. There may have been similar calls to others. At the end if the day, blocked numbers are traceable.
Not nice for you, hope that's the end if it
