My chestnut TB has had some scour on his back legs for a few days now and I've been keeping a close eye on him to see whether he has very loose stools. The thing is that the stool is normal consistency, pretty firm, but when he goes to poo, he also seems to expel some watery fluid as well which runs down his back legs.
He is very well in himself - not losing condition, is definitely well covered (a natural fattie for a TB), eating very well (as usual) and he is fed no differently to the other two. They have ad lib haylage in the field which is good quality and not too rich nor mouldy and they are fed Pure Feed Condition which has suited them all well over the last 5 months. They've been wormed regularly as well throughout the year. He's not colicky at all and is bright and chirpy as usual.
Nothing much has changed - he just has suddenly acquired it over the last few days and I'm scratching my head a bit. Initially I thought he had just overdone it and eaten a bit too much haylage (he is greedy) but it's gone on a bit longer than I would expect.
Any thoughts? If it continues, I'll think about getting the vet but in the meantime, I wonder if anyone has any thoughts about what it might be?
