my boy is working in the pessoa after a KS op, but with all the rain we have had i can not do his lunging as our out door school is water logged, does any one know if it is ok to long line out in a pessoa, as i dont want to stop his work as he has been doing really well.
gratefull for any ideas
 
Just long line instead of the pessoa. Thats what we did when it was too wet and as long as your horse is long and low it will be fine. You could always try putting a chambon or similar on while long lining but I wouldn't use a pessoa personally whilst ling lining
 
You are basically aiming to over bend the neck so that his chin is almost between his knee's this then raises, opens and bascules the spine & vertebrae so if your horse is tolerant of being strapped down then using the pessoa whilst long lining will be ok.
 
thank you for your replys i have done it for the last 2 days and he has been doing really well its kept him focused and quite when normally he is mad just long liening thanks again for your replys
