Well we went to the RVC on Thursday to see Roger Smith who was absolutely lovely. George had been on box rest for a month after being diagnosed with a hole in his hind superficial flexor tendon with a poor prognosis and six months of box rest planned.

As soon as the lorry turned up he started having a major bronking and squeeling fit- well it was the most exciting thing that had happened in a month- so after a bit of happy juice he loaded like an angel and off we went.

When we got there he was trotted up and pronounced sound! YAY!

Then we took him off to be scanned. George enjoyed looking at the big telly and also having half a dozen vet students to pamper him! Well he scanned the leg and couldn't find the hole!! It has completely healed! He found an area where the fibres were a slightly different shape so reckoned that what were the hole had been. So no Stem Cell Treatment for George and he's now allowed to be turned out for short periods and I was told he should be back in full work in three months.

And he'll be able to do everything including jump!

Can't believe it! I have been through so much with this horse and thought that this was the beginning of the end so it just shows you that they can still surprise you and never to give up hope!

So for all of those with horses on box rest keep getting them scanned because they might just surprise you!

Thanks everyone. I still can't believe it and keep expecting them to phone up saying that they missed something!

Fingers crossed we're now on the road to full work and no more problems!

Tam I am so pleased for you and George what fab news
