Thank you for all your opinions and suggestions, etc., all much appreciated!

I've spoken to the insurance company and I've spoken to my vet.

The general gist is that my vet will write a report based on the specialist's reports and on her knowledge of Dizz over this year. The insurance company will accept that. The valuer will call me and we'll discuss figures. If we reach agreement, Dizz will be freezemarked with an 'L'. The insurance company will pay out. If by some fluke Dizz does make it as a BS horse, we will not have to pay back. I'm not sure if we'll try, we'll do little things and see how life goes, I don't want to push her - this mental exercise has shown me just what I feel about her!:rolleyes::D

I agree, it all sounds far too easy... The insurance company said that they make it that way, that they aren't trying to 'catch people out' and that they understand what a horrible position it is to be in. There will be restrictions re. future insurance, but that's all to be discussed. I probably wouldn't be able to sell her as a showjumper, but she's not going to be sold anyway so that's academic.

So again, thank you for all the help and support and thoughts, all much appreciated.

Thank you :)

Yes Q, I think it's sinking in that the Dizz isn't quite right. It's a sobering thought. Will see how she goes. If the insurance do pay out, when we get our own place I think I'll buy a showjumping schoolmaster/mistress and the Dizz and I will find other things to do. Will not stress about it between now and then though, I'll just work with the Dizz and D1. D1 is going to have a new horse, so we're going to have a herd of our own! :D

Yes thank you, I feel like a weight has been lifted :D. I'd already decided that if it meant pushing Dizz I wasn't going to do it, the money (or rather the possibiliy of money) isn't worth it.

GW, sure hun, you can come and join the gang :D. You'll have to put up with the mad house though :D :D

insurance companies can surprise you, can't they? mine really went above and beyond what i expected of them when raff broke his leg.

it all sounds really positive Mrs M, i'm so pleased for you.

p.s. showjumping? are you sure you wouldn't prefer something nice like knitting? chess? :D

They can CCP! I had tears in my eyes. I expected it all to be stress, etc., but they were lovely. When it's all done, whatever 'done' means, I'll post details of who and what in so far as I can :D

Hm. Knitting. I used to say I went rock climbing because I couldn't knit lol :D :eek:
