So pleased to hear your friend is OK.

My OH is a Trustee of the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance Trust so I will pass the info on.

Did you know that each flight costs the charity (yes the whole thing is run by public donation, NOT government funding) approx £2000 per incident!

Please remember this next time you see a collecting tin. Or alternatively join the Essex Air Amb lottery.

Thistle - I was thinking today after it all happened if there was a "trust" or something I could make donations to? You can tell your OH that him and his colleagues do a fantastic job, and should be proud of what they do!! My hat goes off to them all!

Not only am I a horse rider, but my self and OH are keen motorbikers too, and it wasn't long ago one of my OH's family members needed their service after a bad bike crash. Sadly, his injuries were too servere to survive, but alot of friends and family made donations to the Essex Air Ambulance to show their appreciation!

Is there a website where you can make donations on?

Herts http://www.hertsairambulance.uk.com/

Essex http://www.essexairambulance.uk.com/

You can donate using the 'donate ' button on the left hand side or you can join the lottery and have a chance of winning something back. Make sure you complete the gift aid bit, then the charity get the 25% tax too.

The crew and staff love to get a follow up email when people are pleased with the service!

I'm glad your friend is ok, best wishes to her and hope she gets well soon. I suffered with concussion after falling from my horse, and it is a horrible experience. Luckily I managed to ride home

Thanks for bring the Air Ambulance lottery to my attention, I was aware that it all funded by donations, but didn't know about the lottery - I'll be joining the Kent Air Ambulance one - you really never know when / if you'll need those guys!
