Just a little update on me and Ruby :)

She's settled in very well, she stayed in her own field for 2 weeks, so she could meet the other Horses over the fence (one of the geldings in the big field is very domanant and new Horses need to be introduced slowly) she seemed to get along with them so on Sat she went out with them, No problems at all :D, she really gets along with my old share Horse which is lovely to watch :D. She came in with 3 minor cuts and that was it, so I am washing them and using sudocrem on them, I'm sure they will heal up in no time.

Ground wise, shes started to test me a bit to see how much I will let her get away with ;) so far she's barged into me when I went in to the stable and tried to push her way out, I gave her a smack on the chest and firmly said "No" then made her back away from me, She hasn't tried that again. She has tried to drag me to the field, I made her back up then stand quietly, she hasn't tried that again either :D she keeps trying to use me as an itching post too! shes doing it less and less now and I push her head away and firmly say no.

I've ridden in the school a few times, and in the last session I introduced trotting poles to her, which she done really well. She was rushing at the start, but torwards the end was very relaxed and listening to my half halts to steady her. She's still trying to get the hang of lunging though  I took her first hack with me yesterday and she was an absolute star!! :D she will walk in front or behind, we had vans overtake and then on the way home a massive lorry overtook and she didn't batter an eyelid, we had a lovely trot up the hill and she didn't pull and listened to me the whole time! I asked her for an outline, she dropped her head nicely but her ears were flat back and she was fidgeity, She was not very comfortable so I let her have her head again, Texted the old owners to ask when she last had the dentist and they said not for over a year !!, So have booked the dentist for next week :)

No piccies I'm afriad as my Iphone has decided to break on me :( There are recent ones in my albulm though

She sounds like a star, and you sound as if you have formed a partnership already. Congratulations:)

Sounds fab and it's nice to hear that you're not letting her get away with anything- when I first had my pony he would drag me around the entire yard if I tried to lead him anywhere!! It took me months to give him a good elbow in the chest and tell him no- couldn't imagine him attempting it now!!!

Thank you :)

I can't wait to start having some lessons and hopefully get out to a show in the summer

Will hopefully have my Iphone up and running so I can put more piccies on here!
