This was in my local paper:

GRACE, is 25 years, 14.2. She is freezemarked & on medication for arthritis.

She was herded out of her field in Barnby by cattle from a nearby farm, there was another horse that escaped along with grace, this horse has been found.

It says in the paper anyone with info should contact her owner, I dont know if I can post her name and number on here, so PMs please.

Hope they find her but it does seem odd they didnt stay together. The herd instinct means they stick together and follow each other. I dont really know of any that will go off on their own.

I wonder whether they were removed... Maybe one wouldnt go in the box so was set free...It happens.

Or maybe the mare has fallen somewhere.

I think if I was the owner I would be contacting all abbatoirs, sales, ports, horsewatch etc. At least she is freezemarked so they have a chance of finding her.

Finger crossed they find her in a field somewhere! Happily noshing.

Yes, it was in my local paper, along with the owners name and contact number.
I can't imagine how horrid this situation must be for all concerned
