I'm so sorry. It's hard enough to lose one but two so close together is heartbreaking.

Your Poppy looks so like my bestest dog ever - a black terrier with big ears and tons of personality who spent nearly 20 years ruling my household.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments, I really appreciate them very much Mr. J and I have been married 51 years today and we remarked it is the first 24 hours in all those years we have had a house without a single dog in it. We even spent our wedding night with two Labradors draped over the end of the bed and a Collie snuffling and farting in his armchair in our bedroom! Happy days - sad day today but hopefully better times ahead when our new girl joins us.

Oh I am so sorry. I lost my little girl terrier to dementhat last year and that little grey face has made me cry. How lucky she did not suffer and that she had so much love - you can see it in her face.
I hope your new one gives you both much pleasure.
